I was watching a TED talk last night on heartbreak. While the lady in question made a very valiant attempt to expound the virtues that came about because of heartbreak, she was almost in tears more than once. I admire her strength. I admire her naivete. But what I realised mostly from her talk was the importance of self-worth. Never ever come second to anyone. Do not let anyone into your life who you know will never fight for you. It does not matter whether that happens to be as a friend or otherwise. Do not be around anyone who does not think you are worth fighting for. Let go of them. And if there isn’t anybody else, you will fight for you.
